Position Overview:

The System Administrator is responsible for the administration, security, and lifecycle management of the organization’s Microsoft 365 environment, Azure infrastructure, SaaS application portfolio, and endpoint management platform. This role serves as the primary technical owner of enterprise application integrations, single sign-on (SSO) configurations, and SaaS governance — operating in a cloud-only environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, security-conscious, and collaborates with the broader Information Systems team to keep the environment reliable and compliant.

Key Functions:

Microsoft 365 & Azure Administration:

  • Administer the Microsoft 365 tenant including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and associated services.
  • Manage Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD): user and group lifecycle, directory roles, and identity governance.
  • Configure Conditional Access policies, MFA enforcement, and Zero Trust controls in alignment with organizational security standards.
  • Administer Microsoft Intune for device enrollment, compliance policy management, configuration profiles, and application deployment across Windows and Mac endpoints.
  • Manage Microsoft Defender suite components (MDE, MDO, MDI, MDCA) including policy configuration, and integration with the broader security stack.
  • Support Azure resource administration including resource groups, storage accounts, Azure Virtual Desktop, Log Analytics workspaces, and Key Vault.
  • Maintain licensing assignments and optimize license utilization across M365 and Azure SKUs.

SaaS Application Management & SSO:

  • Own the onboarding and offboarding lifecycle for SaaS applications, including SSO configuration (SAML/OIDC) via Entra ID and enterprise app registration.
  • Maintain the organization’s enterprise application catalog; ensure SSO coverage, MFA enforcement, and appropriate access scoping across the SaaS portfolio.
  • Manage provisioning and deprovisioning integrations (SCIM or manual) to ensure timely, accurate access changes aligned with the joiner/mover/leaver (JML) process.
  • Evaluate and onboard new SaaS applications in coordination with the IS team and business stakeholders, including security posture review and integration planning.
  • Manage and monitor SaaS license utilization; work with vendors and accounting to right-size contracts.
  • Maintain documentation for all SSO configurations, app registrations, and provisioning workflows.

DevOps & Automation Support:

  • Support DevOps teams with Azure resource provisioning, service principal management, and application registration configurations.
  • Assist with pipeline infrastructure needs including access to Azure services, secret/certificate management in Key Vault, and environment-level permissions.
  • Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts and automation workflows to reduce manual administration overhead across M365, Entra ID, and Intune.
  • Participate in change management processes for infrastructure changes that intersect with cloud identity and SaaS integrations.

Networking (Foundational):

  • Maintain working knowledge of core networking concepts: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and firewall fundamentals as they apply to cloud-connected environments.
  • Support network-related troubleshooting for cloud services, SaaS connectivity, and remote access scenarios.
  • Coordinate with network vendors on connectivity issues that affect cloud or SaaS service availability.

IS Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with IS team members on cross-functional initiatives including security projects, system migrations, and platform rollouts.
  • Provide escalation support to the helpdesk for M365, Entra ID, Intune, and SaaS application issues beyond L1/L2 scope.
  • Participate in IS team planning, change advisory processes, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Maintain and contribute to the team knowledge base: runbooks, configuration documentation, and onboarding/offboarding procedures.
  • Support audit and compliance requests related to access controls, licensing, and system configurations.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a systems administration role with a focus on cloud platforms.
  • Hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive) and Entra ID (Azure AD).
  • Demonstrated experience configuring enterprise SSO integrations using SAML or OIDC with Entra ID.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Intune for endpoint management: compliance policies, configuration profiles, and app deployment.
  • Working experience with Microsoft Defender suite (MDE, MDO, MDI, or MDCA).
  • Familiarity with Azure administration: resource groups, Key Vault, storage, and role assignments (RBAC).
  • Solid understanding of identity and access management principles: least privilege, MFA, Conditional Access, and lifecycle management.
  • Basic networking knowledge: DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPN, and firewall concepts.
  • Strong documentation habits; ability to produce clear runbooks, configuration guides, and change records.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Desire to continuously learn and adapt in a rapidly evolving cloud technology landscape.

Preferred:
  • Microsoft certifications: MS-102 (Microsoft 365 Administrator), AZ-104 (Azure Administrator), or equivalent.
  • Experience with SCIM-based provisioning and app lifecycle automation.
  • Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for M365, Entra ID, and Intune automation.
  • Experience supporting DevOps or engineering teams with Azure service principal and app registration management.
  • Knowledge of vulnerability management tooling and security posture monitoring in SaaS environments.
  • Experience in a regulated industry (financial services, healthcare, or similar) with familiarity with compliance frameworks such as GLBA, NIST CSF, or CFPB.
  • Project management exposure; ability to manage concurrent workstreams with varying timelines.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability
Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability Form CC-305

Expires 05/31/2026
Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
