Sr Accountant – Mortgage (Lombard, IL) $60,000-80,000
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Proficient in accounting and financial management software and Microsoft Office products
Advanced in MS Excel
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
2-5 years of related professional Accounting/Finance experience
CPA or similar professional designation preferred
Mortgage industry experience preferred
Responsibilities
The Senior Accountant is responsible for; accounting functions supporting the Controllers of both operating divisions. The position reports to the SVP Finance and will have regular interaction with leaders in the finance operation including the CFO, and Controllers. This position is an individual contributor role and requires great attention to detail and organization. This position will work closely with other finance, accounting, and business intelligence reporting teams and will be a key business partner for divisional presidents, corporate leaders, and operations staff.
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Accounting principles, processes, and procedures in order to ensure accuracy, compliance and efficiency
Support the Controllers in ensuring accurate and timely completion of journal entries and accounting reports in accordance with GAAP
Prepare the full monthly profit and loss statements for assigned branches
Attend P&L calls with Branch Managers to answer transaction questions and locate supporting documentation when requested
Calculates and enters loan sale and revenue entries in a supporting role function
Prepares daily and monthly general ledger reconciliations for assigned ledgers
Work with accounting operations on the general ledger structure to support financial reporting across all branches
Assist with various accounting projects as needed
Contribute to process improvement related to above duties and responsibilities
