Compensation Range: $75,000 - $95,000

The Mortgage Business Intelligence & Analytics team oversees all activities and functions involved with the company’s Business Intelligence platform, giving mortgage company business leaders access to reliable, actionable data to better manage and understand the business and drive company growth.

We are seeking an experienced Insights Analyst to grow our team’s analytic capabilities.  The initial focus of this role will be on our sales funnel, using statistical and observational analysis to identify the most effective sales leads and methods to increase our conversion rates, and improve our operational efficiency. This will initially entail working with our sales leaders and stakeholders to establish core reporting needed for day-to-day business management, which will also serve as a baseline of current sales funnel performance.

This opportunity is fully remote with the option to work from our offices in San Diego, CA, Irvine, CA, or Omaha, NE for those who prefer an office environment. You will be joining a dynamic, fully remote team which is distributed across pacific and central time zones and supporting our business across all US time zones.

This will be a highly visible role which will be key in driving value for our primary organizational goals, with exposure to sales leaders across the company, and our CFO. Responsibilities will continue to expand, with opportunities to support analytics projects aligned with team and organizational goals.


Duties include:
Statistical & Qualitative Analysis
  • Propose and establish core hypotheses
  • Leverage raw data, existing reporting, and internal knowledge to conduct initial analysis
  • Develop statistical models to identify relevant variables impacting sales
Data Synthesis & Presentation
  • Effectively distill data into understandable and summary results
  • Create strong data visualizations
  • Deliver findings and insights to upper management and stakeholders using storytelling techniques
  • Propose actionable recommendations on product and process
Planning & Execution
  • Create pilot plans for recommendations including documentation, identifying test groups, and establishing time frames
  • Engage with stakeholders throughout the pilots as needed
  • Conduct A/B testing, identifying control groups to measure against
Reporting & Measurement
  • Create standard reporting to establish baseline of existing sales funnel performance
  • Develop relevant reporting to track performance of pilots and processes, as well as supporting the business
  • Properly establish metrics to measure success and identify additional opportunities
Team Support
  • Help grow team capabilities through best practices, skill sharing, and collaboration
  • Support other team functions such as operational reporting, regulatory reporting, and data development, as needed

Qualifications
  • 3-5 years’ experience in an analytics role such as decision science, data science, analytic insights, or similar
  • BS in a quantitative discipline such as statistics, computer science, decision science, or similar, or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience conducting research studies and A/B testing, including documentation, execution, and data gathering
  • Comprehension of core structured data and data warehouse concepts
  • Ability to work with a variety of personalities, including senior level management, and effectively use data to drive actionable recommendations
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of entire sales funnel, from lead generation to closing
  • Mortgage experience a plus

Required Skills
  • Expert level understanding of (MS) SQL and datamining techniques using multivariate datasets
  • Proficient with analytics programming language such as Python or R
  • Understanding of a major Business Intelligence platform including connecting to data sources, data transformation, data visualization, and data interaction. Power BI strongly preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including ability to effectively build effective data visualizations and reports
